DECISION “QUASHED”
The
Government of the United Workers Party found itself in a losing
situation when a decision made by Sir John Compton last year,
when he was Prime Minister, regarding the Soufriere
Regional Development Foundation was overturned by the High
Court. However, the persons who stand to lose by the court’s
decision have refused to abide by it,

Prize-Giving Ceremony
The
prize giving ceremony for the 2008 carnival season was held
over the weekend to present recipients with their plaques,
trophies and prize monies. Held last Friday night
at Spinners in Union, the event brought together the key players
that helped St. Lucia Carnival 2KGreat to cross yet another
threshold in terms of quality productions.

Caribbean Securities Market
This
week on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market, 87,454 shares
in Grenreal Property Corporation Ltd shares traded at $4.70
unchanged from its previous market close, and 600 shares of
St Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank Ltd traded at $3.20
up twenty cents or 6.66% since its last traded price. Regional

All
of the various agreements necessary to secure the construction
of the latest ultra luxury resort – The Ritz Carlton
- earmarked for the south of the island have now been concluded.

was held at the Arawak Hotel in Guadeloupe July 25th –
August 2nd, 2008.In
