Between
1997 and 2001, the former SLP administration began a process
to seek solutions to the water authority’s (WASA) problems.
Within that time period, WASA was corporatized and
became WASCO and the water rates were doubled. That didn’t
work and three separate studies were done on the water sector
in 2001,

Ltd, St Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank, St Lucia Electricity
Services Ltd, Grenreal Property Corporation Ltd and
ECFH traded, all unchanged from their respective prices last
week. Also, 4,000 TDC shares traded at $1.96, up twenty one
cents or 12% since its last traded price.

Dry Goods Vendors Association Ltd. met with President Hilton
Jn Baptiste of SLISBA along with members of their management
teams on Tuesday, 12th August, 2008 at SLISBA’s Secretariat.
They discussed areas of mutual interest and plans
for future collaboration.

Mixer program launched
The
St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce held its first Chamber Mixer
in the south of the island on Wednesday August 6th, 2008 from
5.00p.m. to 7.00pm at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa
under the theme “Sustaining a Brighter Vision in the
South”. This event was in keeping with the
President’s drive to ensure that the Chamber spreads
this event nationwide.

& Wireless committed to the Caribbean
Cable
& Wireless Caribbean is set to invest more than US$400
million in telecommunications development over the next three
years, says the company’s Chief Executive Officer for
the region Richard Dodd. Noting that the company’s
transformation programme, officially launched in May, is progressing
well, CEO Richard Dodd said the regional business with a 120-year-old
legacy,
