Cable
& Wireless St Lucia has been presented with a Special
Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award by the Environmental Systems
Research Institute, Inc (ESRI. The award was presented
to Assistant Manager Planners, GIS and Routine & Records,
Trevor Alfred on behalf of the company at the 28th Annual
ESRI International User Conference (ESRI UC) in San Diego,
California on August 6.

response to a request by a CARICOM Ministerial-Level Meeting
on Intellectual Property for Caribbean Countries in Barbados
in November 2006, an Expert Meeting organized by
the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) met in
Jamaica from March 18 and 19, 2008. The Meeting brought together
representatives from Antigua and Barbuda,

In
a Letter addressed to Representatives of the State of Saint
Lucia, the Self-governing Administrative Mechanism of the
Indigenous People (Bethechilokono) of Saint Lucia (SAM-BGC),
on Tuesday 12th August 2008 called on the State of
Saint Lucia to provide support for the full and effective
implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights
of Indigenous Peoples,

Launching of ‘Castries Underground’

be celebrated on Friday evening with the launch of Castries
Underground, the latest CD of this Island’s most recorded
musician – Luther Renaldo François.

Gallagher officially opened its business here in St Lucia.
The opening ceremony was held on Tuesday this week at the
Caribbean Cinemas at Choc/Union. Approximately sixty
people were in attendance including the current supervisor
for Insurance Companies and Permanent Secretary in the Minister
of Finance Isaac Anthony.

last week Sunday with the first competition taking place at
the Old Airport Strip in Vieux Fort. Crowds of fans
came out in force to witness some of St. Lucia’s best
DJ’s go head to head. The DJs played their part as they
mixed their best sets to give the crowd an innovative and
vibrant music experience.
