ECONOMY SLOW
Due
to a decline in the global economy, and rising food and commodity
costs, the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) has predicted
slow growth in its economic activity in Eastern Caribbean
countries. At the recent 62nd Monetary Council Meeting
in Antigua, Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank
(ECCB) Sir Dwight Venner said,

of Agriculture hosts CITES Workshops
A
series of workshops, designed to increase the public sector’s
awareness and broader understanding of CITES , began last
Wednesday at the Palm Haven Hotel in Rodney Bay.
The workshops are being coordinated and implemented by Dr.
Marie-Louise Felix, Wildlife Trade Management Officer of the
World Wildlife Fund’s Guianas Programme.

of $7.49 and at a low of $6.50, 582 East Caribbean
Financial Holding Company shares traded at $15.00, 2,900 Grenreal
Property Corporation Limited traded at a $4.70, 70 Republic
Bank (Grenada) Limited shares traded at $55.00, 
Missing
Twenty-five
year old Stephum Marquis is missing. According to his family,
he left home on Tuesday of last week and has not returned.
Marquis is of fair complexion, with dark curly hair, dark
brown eyes, and is about five feet eight inches tall. He suffers
from epileptic seizures and the scars sustained from falling
easily distinguish him. 
People’s
Monarch Top Three Receive Their Prizes
Three
of the island’s top artistes last Thursday received
their prizes from local telecommunications provider, bMobile
(Cable and Wireless). Herb Black, Teddyson John and
Ilah Man – the first, second and third place winners
in the competition – were on hand at the brief prize-giving
ceremony held at the Cable and Wireless Bridge Street branch.
