before you privatize
The
Caribbean Association of Feminist Research and Action (CFRA)
joins other non-governmental organizations in St. Lucia in
expressing enormous concerns with the statements made by our
Minister for Trade, Honourable Rufus Bousquet, that
St. Lucia is well-placed and ready to be a signatory to the
Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). 
Carnival
2008
Now
that Carnival is over and done with, all concerned are involved
in doing their post-mortems, and supplying us with what they
believe went well and what needs improving. Mind
you, they are not telling us about what went wrong, but “What
needs improving”. Well, I would like to add my two pence
to the season’s outcome and I hope I do not step on
anyone’s toes.
The
collapse of the Doha talks
Seven
years after the Doha discussions, disappointment is about
the mildest word one can use to describe the discussions and
achievements to date. The outcome thus far has indicated
that developing countries like Brazil and India to name but
a few are prepared to stand up against the developed countries
in no uncertain terms.
