2008 Du Boulay’s Bottling Company, 25th staging of the
Coca-Cola Junior International Tennis Tournament will serve
off at the newly furbished Almond Smugglers Cove Courts commencing
Monday 4th to Saturday 9th August. The Tournament
which is sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation
(ITF) for the second year running,

Domino Competition too early to call
The
excitement continues in the 2008 Commercial House Carib 3-
Hand Domino Competition at the Police Auditorium on Bridge
Street. Despite overcast skies, well over sixty domino
players representing the various Commercial Houses participating
in this year’s competition made their way to the Police
Auditorium as early as 6:00 pm for the evening challenge.

Netball Ranked 4th at AFNA Championship
St.
Lucia netballers finally got it right this time around and
where it matters most in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, as
it was sweet revenge for the ladies in gold, white, blue and
black colors when they defeated arch rivals St.Vincent &
the Grenadines at home 40 - 38 at the just concluded AFNA
Championships in a thrilling encounter played at the Arnos
Vale Sporting Complex.

Tigers Score Big in Trinidad
After
an outstanding performance earlier in the month in St. Lucia,
they are back in the news again after a scintillating performance
overseas. Dubbed “The Best There Is, The Best
There Was and The Best There Will Ever,” that’s
the name bestowed on this St. Lucian Martial Arts School which
has represented the island overseas five times for the past
four years.

Johnson sets eyes on Beijing Medal
St.
Lucia’s veteran Olympian, Pole Vault extraordinaire
Dominic Johnson, pulled all stocks from out of the bag to
do a last minute qualifying height for the Beijing Olympics
when he cleared 5.55 meters (18’ 2 1/2”) at a
USATF Sanctioned meet in San Diego. Dominic, a past
Sportsman of the Year recipient, had recently won a Silver
medal for St. Lucia at the CAC Championships,

Beaubrun Heading for Beijing Pool
National
Swimmer Danielle Beaubrun now attending the Bolles School
in Jacksonville, Florida will be St.Lucia’s fourth representative
at the 29th Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, from
Friday 8th – Sunday 24th August 2008, now only 18 years
old she is the youngest on the St.Lucia team and will join
triple Olympian Dominic Johnson (Pole Vault),
