TO BE SIGNED
Despite
all objections from the Opposition leader, it has been reported
that St Lucia is moving to sign on to the Economic Partnership
Agreement with Europe. Essentially, the EPA will
dictate future trade between Europe and the region. Addressing
small business owners on Wednesday, Trade and Commerce Minister
Rufus Bousquet said St Lucia would focus,

Fares Increase in September
As
St. Lucians brace themselves to pay more for public transportation
come September 1st, 2008 a call has gone out for the just
concluded survey on the public transportation system in the
country to be made public. The call is being made
by minibus owners themselves despite their exhilaration that
the request for a fare increase was acknowledged by Government.

program at Turning Point the islands only centre for people
suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. Appearing
before Justice Kenneth Benjamin, Alexander a drug and alcohol
addict for more than ten years who had previously been convicted
of breaking into a dwelling house,

system in the Royal St Lucia Police Force police has been
stressed by the government and the public alike. However,
even if there has been evidence of wrongdoing, disciplinary
actions do not reflect the commitment of the police Force
to oppose police misconduct.
