A
few years ago, it was 1999 to be precise I wrote a feature
article called “Below the Sacred Pitons” not knowing
then that this site would later become a World Heritage Site.
My article dealt mostly with the sacredness and beauty
of the place and the Saint Lucian folklore, culture and history
that surrounds the place. Few in Saint Lucia know,

Yasus Afari, now recognised as the “Rasta Ambassador”,
will be embarking on a brief Lecture/ Performance Tour in
St Lucia to promote his book “Overstanding Rastafari:
Jamaica’s Gift to the World” and latest
CDs “Revolution Chapter 1” and “Gift of
Vision”. Yasus will be in St Lucia during Emancipation
events from 30th July and will s well as launching his book,

West Indies Cricket Board has announced its decision to terminate
the employment of its Corporate Secretary with immediate effect.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board
of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board held on July
24th and 25th 2008, at which it was also agreed to send its’
Chief Executive Officer on administrative leave,

its office to 60 Coral Street (two buildings after passing
the old Rambally Funeral Palour), and would like the General

open letter to a different Minister of the Government coming
so soon on the heels of that which I wrote in last weekend’s
Voice newspaper is bound to raise some eyebrows and may even
