It is as a stand up comedienne and storyteller that Joan Andrea
Hutchinson will take the stage this Saturday night. Best known
for her dramatic monologues and humour, Joan has honed her
skill with performances in the US, Canada, the Caribbean,
and extensively in Jamaica.
Word Alive producer Drinia Frederick expects a rousing and
eye opening performance from Hutchinson Saturday night. “She
writes comedy with a twist,” enthuses Frederick, “You
will laugh but you will get the message”.
Hutchinson’ performance will cap off a night of dramatic
spoken word performances. Amateur poets and performers will
compete for the Word Alive championship, which comes with
a monetary prize in addition to bragging rights. Guest appearances
by other top-notch performers will round off the intimate
and entertaining evening of poetry and music.
