Le Sport, BOSL, IRD  Off  With Wins.

THE Commercial Basketball League jumped start on a high competitive note this past weekend with three highly competitive games at the Beausejour Indoor Facility.

Action tipped off in Group A on Friday evening, with The Body Holiday Le Sport defeating defending champions St. Lucia Fire Service, 63 – 56.

From the very first whistle Le Sport’s aggressive and fast paced style caught the Fire Service off-guard and despite a strong third quarter surge by the fire fighters, Le Sport comfortably sealed the victory behind the strong performance of KFC player of the game Joel Polius who almost posted a triple double with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 9 steals. Team mate Lance Prospere did his part with solid guard play recording 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

For the St. Lucia Fire Service, big man MarcionCaulderon recorded a double double with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

On Saturday, in Group C, Bank of St. Lucia went up against the formidable Royal St. Lucia Police Force. A competitive affair throughout, both teams were in attack mode until the final seconds when a go- ahead basket by BOSL, evaded the long arm of the law 50-48.

KFC Player of the Game was Shamoir Jn Baptiste for BOSL, recording 17 points and 5 assists.

For the RSLPF, the high man was Ulric Joseph recording an energetic double double 16 points and 16 rebounds.

In Game 2 in Group B, 2014 CBL runners-up, Goddard Group faced the Inland Revenue Hustlers. From the tip off the IRD’s taxing running style overwhelmed Goddard, led by dynamic duo Keegan Preville and Ron Dumurville of defending national league champions Courts Jets.

Sharp shooter Andre Louison (also of Courts Jets) kept the game within striking distance for Goddard throughout, but ultimately they fell short by the score of 65 – 52.

KFC Player of the Game for IRD Hustlers was Keegan Preville with a massive game recording 20 points, 21 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. His running mate Ron Dumurville also chipped in 26 points.

For Goddard Group, Andre Louison tallied 24 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.

Meanwhile, one game is on the card for tomorrow evening, Renwick and Company Limited will play Windjammer Landings from 7:00 p.m. at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility.
