GAMES continue this weekend with the following schedule in the St. Lucia Basketball Federation-sponsored KFC National and Premiere League tournaments at three playing facilities.

Today, Lions will take on Police from 6:00 p.m., Courts Jets plays Soufriere from 8.00 p.m., in Gros Islet. At the Morne Playing Facility Fire Service versus Combined Schools from 6:00 p.m., and Morne Gladiators plays VBCC Warlords from 8.00 p.m.

Tomorrow, Maranatha Eagles plays BBC from 5:00 p.m., and Canaries is up against MicoudHustlerz from 7:00 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Morne Playing Facility.

Meanwhile, Soufriere Sulphur Stars defeated Canaries Moon River 50 – 40 in the “battle of the west” down in Soufriere in Premiere League action on Thursday evening. Leading the way for Soufriere was KFC Player of the Game Linzel Alcee with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Clayton William also added 17 points and 8 rebounds for Soufriere.

For Canaries, Larry Shepherd was the lone player with double figures. He finished with 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in their loss.

In Division 1 action in Gros Islet, Maranatha Eagles through Ryan Headley’s prolific shooting from long range made easy work of Sandals High Risers 73 – 49. At half time Eagles led 29 – 25, but pulled away through KFC Player of the Game Headley, leading the way scoring 5/6 3-point field goals for his 19 points and 7 rebounds. Arthur Lisson also had an outstanding performance with a game high of 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Eagles. Kurt Weeks had 11 points and 8 rebounds for Sandals in their second defeat of the tournament.
