Environmental Education for Schools Continues

THE visits to schools to provide information to students about healthy lifestyles and environmental issues continued continued during the week.

The activity is organized by the PCI Media Impact with the Ministry of Sustainable Development Energy Science and Technology, Fisheries Division, Department of Forestry, St. Lucia National Trust and Solid Waste Management

Presentations were made on Tuesday to students of the Morne Du Don Combined School, Vide Bouteille Primary School and the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School.

Representatives of the different Ministries and Organizations continued to educate the students on the need to ensure that their actions do not damage the natural environment and its inhabitants.

The students were provided with information on how to address environmental problems such as Climate Change, Invasive species, pollution and the Genetically Modified Organisms re foods.

The students were again entertained with the portrayal of Mascots on the different presentations and received prizes for giving correct answers to questions following the different presentations.

The education process continued with a District 2 annual walk on Thursday. Visits to other schools island wide will take place in the upcoming months to ensure all students are educated and informed to play an active role in protecting their environment.

  1. WOW This is incredible reading. A giant step in the correct direction. I pray that valuable insight is gleaned from the synergy developed by the various entities in order to consolidate frameworks of further instruction or immersion.
