Juniors Record At Rotary Charity Golf

THE 22nd annual Rotary Charity Golf Championship was finally held last Sunday after being rained out the previous week.

A total of 29 teams teed off all with hopes of hoisting the trophy for their team sponsors. Amidst persistent rain and a hint of sunshine, the course and the format proved to be quite challenging for most players.

There was also a record number of 11 juniors taking part with two teams comprising only juniors.

The coveted hole in one prize sponsored by JQ Motors of an Audi Q3 once again eluded the top players on the Island. However individual honours did go out to the following players in the different categories.

Juniors closest to the pin – DaronhilMauricette; Ladies closest to the pin – Marisa Groenewald; Men closest to the pin – John Dowling; Junior’s longest drive – Dominique Monrose, Ladies longest drive – Joan Paul; Super senior’s longest drive – Kerwin Jn Baptiste, Seniors longest drive – Canice Louis; Men’s longest drive – Glenn Sorenson.

Best Dressed team went to Sandals which were clad all the way with Adidas gear.

The top six finishers were – Sixth place – Team Theobald’s Consulting – Glenn Sorenson, Marguerite Mc David and Samuel Richelieu; fifth place – Team A1 Marine – Ed Trinidad, Amy Berglund and Zanaii Taylor; fourth place – Team Concept Holdings – Peter Devaux, Orval Vandendool and Debra Ross, third place – Team Ernst and Young – Tim Moffat, Allen Chastanet and David Lumkong; second place – Team CGM Gallagher – Mario Reyes, Simon Reyes and Dominique Monrose; 2014 Rotary Champions – Team St.Lucia Golf Club – Victor Charles, Linus Deterville and Julian Edwards.
